Lastly, I would like to say a little something about the recent addition of One Man’s Goal, to the blog for sell market.  I even considered doing a link bait piece about why it’s a bad idea. But then I reconsidered. Our blogs are ours to create, build, change, monetize, and sell as we please.

Bryan is probably doing the right thing selling now, before the blog selling craze gets out of hand, with supply exceeding demand, kind of like real estate. He will still blog and work on web projects. He can always start another blog which continues where the first one left off.

A couple of caveats. When I first read on Problogger that One Man’s Goal was up for sell. I immediately wondered why he didn’t take the original offer of 18,000$ he was writing about. If that was a real offer, it seems like a no brainer. But he openly admits, in retrospect that it was a great offer. Secondly, what about his 10k pixel page? I was planning to purchase some pixels as soon as my logo was perfected.

These things aside, I’ll miss reading One Man’s Goal. Although I’ll probably keep an eye on it, to see how it evolves. And I’m sure I’ll subscribe to Bryan’s next blog. Best of Luck with your sell Bryan.

Maki’s latest "The Importance Of Social Media Marketing: Why You Should Learn And Master It", is a great read. Especially for me, because I’ve yet to write that one killer article or leverage social media. Except, for some limited use of Stumble Upon.

When it’s time to bump things up to the next level, listening to Maki would be a great way to do so.

That will show those people, who roll their eyes when I tell them, I spent my weekend working on my blog. Seriously, my blog and I have a kind of love/hate relationship. Well, mostly love. But if someone made that offer I would consider breaking up.

Actually the true indicator of monetary worth is what someone else is willing to pay. This is true whether your selling lemonade or real estate. But then, not all worth is measured in cash value. Making money blogging is kind of a bonus. The real worth is creating something you can be proud of. Happy blogging.

From what I could tell my Google bar went from saying no page rank available to PR 0. Everyone has been talking about their rank changing so I thought Google had finally did the update and gave me a 0.

I was bummed but I thought maybe I was one of the people being penalized and that’s why I had a zero. Yesterday when I was checking Website Grader it said I had a page rank of 4, but my toolbar still said 0.

Now I thought for sure I must of been penalized. I even had a dream about finally getting some page rank. Then this morning when I started working on my site I noticed a green bar.

I kept checking it to see if it would go away. Nope, Google finally did a page rank update on my site,and my PR 0 is now PR 4. Yay! I’ve noticed some of my contemporaries who had 0′s have 4′s as well. I guess page rank really does exist.

My blogger friend Kirk over at Just Thinkin’ gave me a break out blogger award. I am honored and flattered. Kirk always supports and encourages my site. When blogging sometimes a little comment or link is all it takes to give us the encouragement to keep on working. Now that I have the award I can give it to 3 other people of my choosing.

I did some research on this BOB and it comes from a site called bobbarama the award comes with code that links back to this site. But there was no mention of this code in Kirks site or in the site that gave him the award. I’ve discovered other sites that also offer award badges and say its optional whether you link back or not. So this may be the case with the BOB as well.

It looks like creating an award with code that links back to your site would be a good way to get some links. But why would someone want to link to your site? At the very least, maybe getting a mention on some kind of blogroll. Of course this could get out of hand very fast. Maybe a java script blogroll that doesn’t count as a link but lists blogs so others can find you.

If anyone has some more information on these awards and the pros and cons, I’d love to hear about it. What is your opinion on all of this?

I’ve been blogging and closely reading other blogs for a few months now. I’ve noticed that many blogs change direction. First bloggers will start out on a topic. Then switch to blogging about blogging and then end up somewhere else. I guess blogs evolve with time just like people.

I started out with just kind of a basic step by step process. Just documenting each thing I learned. Then I started learning about networking and marketing. Then I got caught up in contests. Which I still like but it is an effort to tastefully implement them in a blog.

Recently I’ve been doing some sponsored posts, which is good writing practice plus I usually learn something and make a little cash. I will continue to do these and try to implement them tastefully as well. As usual I have a blog to do list and I thought I would post it here:

This is my current list of things I need to work on. Another issue is posting frequency. I’ve noticed some of my favorite blogs have cut down on posting frequency. I’ve tried a few things. But just to make blogging more fun and less stressful, I don’t have an exact schedule. Plus often times when I’m not posting I’m still working on blog related activities. In case you’ve been wondering what I’ve been doing in my spare time. I have another project I’ve been working on. It’s a blog about Women Comedians, called Comedy Bad Girls.

It’s also part of the Digital-Folders Network ran by Antonio Marques. He contacted me a while back asking if I was interested in having It’s Write Now join the network. I was touched and flattered but It’s Write Now is my baby. So the network wasn’t an option for this blog at this time.

But Antonio was nice enough to let me create a new project. Comedy Bad Girls showcases women comedians. Plus current events and my opinions and observations. Plus hopefully some of yours as well.

The project is just starting and so far I mostly have information about Sarah Silverman and Chelsea Handler. But I plan to showcase everyone eventually. If you have time stop by and check it out. Also comments mean a lot to me. So feel free to say Hi.

I recently checked my subscribed feeds and noticed Dosh Dosh had an article called, “Earning Money To Achieve Your Life Goals“. This is exactly the kind of stuff I’m interested in.

This post began with the story of Jim Westergren, who gave up his marketing and SEO business to become a writer. My site is about writing, and I’m working on the marketing and SEO.
