More Things I Need To Learn

I like my current theme but there are some things I would like to change. Since I’ve began this blog I’ve learned so much. Still to really customize a theme I need to understand how to edit the templates. I recently ordered WordPress Complete: set up, customize, and market your blog. Now when I’m not staring at the computer screen, I’ll be staring at a WordPress book.  I also want to learn more about Drupal and phpBB. Of course, the basic building block of any web endeavor is HTML.

Tutorials

  1. W3Schools – This site pretty much covers everything.

  2. HTMLGoodies – Some good tutorials and references.

  3. HTMLCodeTutorials – Clear tutorials, quick list reference and forums.

I’ve seen some sites enter top 50 lists but I think this is enough to keep anyone busy for a long time. After HTML, understanding CSS and PHP would be great. I’m also going to clean up my categories a little bit today. Before things get too out of hand.

Here’s a good article about Customizing WordPress.

Another way to get questions answered and gain exposure to your blog, is to participate in forums. Here are the links to 2 new forums about blogs about blogging.

    Hey, Emma:

I’m on the same boat with you. I would love to learn some design and coding skillz. Specifically i would like to delve more deeply into blogging software and platforms (such as wordpress) just need to make the time for it.

Plus schools don’t have any of this stuff on their curriculums, the only way to learn this stuff is through self-teaching with online courses, tutorials, workshops, etc. See ya round the blogosphere.

    Happy Monday,
    Missy.

Thanks for the tutorials. I think a blogger should at least know the tags in HTML. It will certainly help the blogger make their blog look better. Thanks.
