I finally bought Article Submitter

For some reason the thought of writing articles and submitting them to directories just sounded too tedious to me. But in order to get links to a new site or page article submission is a good method. So I broke down and wrote an article for my link building campaign.
I manually submitted it to Ezine and GoArticles and then I decided to use the free version of Article Submitter to to hit up some more directories. The free version has about 85 directories but it doesn’t have the auto submit function.
So I opted to buy Article Submitter Platinum with an auto submit button and 274 directories. I thought this would be a cinch. Once I entered all of my article information. Including links to my site in the resource box. I realized that auto submit doesn’t work until you manually log into each directory the first time you run the software.
How tedious is manually putting in a user name and password, 274 times? Even using copy and paste? The best way I found to keep myself motivated to complete a long boring tedious task like this, was to turn on one of Vic’s old videos, and let him yell at me for a while. I mean motivate me.
Actually I’m kind of joking about Vic, I enjoy listening to him and I’ve learned a lot from him. And I really do find his videos motivating. Anyway now Article Submitter is happily churning along submitting my article to 274 different directories, and now that I’m logged in my next submission will just be a few clicks of a button.
When we first start out in Internet Marketing there is a lot of initial investment in time and money. We need to figure out what to do. What tools to use. Purchase the tools and then figure out how to use them. But once you get going things become easier. So quit reading MMO blogs and start working. That’s what I’m trying to do.
Article Submitter Update #1: There are actually 374 directories now. And all of my submissions failed because you need to manually register at each site and reply to the email. I’m going to work on this later and I’ll keep you posted.
Article Submitter Update #2: Apparently the first time you run the software you have to register for each site manually. I spent most of the day, agreeing to terms, clicking on submit, typing in capchas, and responding to email confirmations. I figured it would be a small sacrifice for being able to submit future articles to over 200 directories with the click of a button.
I’m running the software again now and most of the logins are failing. With all of the time I spent today I could of submitted to 30 or 40 directories by hand. I still might do a few. At this point I’m not sure if this software is worthwhile. I’ll play with it some more later in the week. And if I can’t figure out how to set it up so it’s actually a time saver, then I might have to return it. Anyway I’ll keep you posted.
Article Submitter Update #3: So far I’ve been using the software to semi manually submit to directories, so far I’ve submitted to about 45. I’m hoping that once I’ve submitted once, the auto submit will start working. I still don’t have a verdict on this software. I’ll keep you posted.

Emma,
Let me know what’s the results you have from it.
I have abandoned an article submission service for some time and now focus on only a few article directories.

Manually submitting your articles to a couple of directories is always a good idea, and I did that as well. As far as automation goes in theory it’s great idea. In practice it seems to be another thing. I’ll spend some more time on it later on, and post whether the software is worth hanging on to, or if I returned it instead.
Just be carefull with those auto submitters they can get you in to trouble.
I just read about 3 hours ago on some other SEO blog, that submitting data to Article sites/ directories may actually be bad for you. Now i submitted myself a few dozen articles. But this guy was saying that in some cases it can be considered duplicate content, and that the site may actually rank better than your page? I asked for hard proof, but he’s not responded yet.
What you think about that? Just nonsense?

I think that the same article submitted to many sites is duplicate content. We don’t publish them on our own sites just in the article directories with 1-3 anchored links in the resource box. The links are the whole purpose of article submissions although I try to write something of value as well.
Any updates on Article Submitter? I was contemplating whether to upgrade to platinum or not. I did find one called Article Post Robot that you may want to check it.
Hi David. Article Submitter is a struggle to use. It works well for manual submission but I’ve never been able to get the auto submit to work properly. I would suggest sticking with the free version and manually submitting to 20 or 30 directories plus ezine and goarticles. That’s the best strategy I could come up with. Take care, Emma

I think among all the list of articles ezine is the best. Thanks for your post it helped me in getting the information that I am not aware of.
