A Quick Update On My Bans Sites

I have 48 bans sites most of them are on new .info domains. Apparently there are issues with .info domains and it’s difficult to get them indexed. So I have been a little discouraged with bans. I have been thinking about scraping my bans network. When I checked my stats today. I noticed I have finally been getting some clicks and a couple of sales.
Both sales were on one of my .com sites. So instead of scrapping my network. I think I will turn the .info’s that haven’t been getting traffic into blogs of some sort. So that they can eventually age and index. And then I will use .com’s and start rebuilding my bans sites one by one.
Initially I was in a hurry to get 100 sites thrown up as soon as possible. This time I’m going to take my time and just plug away at one site at a time. First researching, then building, then getting links. So that is currently where I’m at with my bans sites.
So it’s kind of back to the drawing board with the bans network. There is definitely no free lunch. But eventually I think the effort will pay off. I’ll have another bans update, in a while, when I have something solid to share.

I have heard BANS site mentioned before…but I really don’t want to know anything about them. After being online for 15 years, building web sites for 10 years and making some money while doing so for 5 years, I’ve learned a few things. One of the big ones is: If everyone else is doing it, go the other way. Uniqueness and value are key to success in business. I don’t know enough about BANS to know if it provides value. I’ll assume so. But with tens of thousands of BANS sites out there, there’s probably nothing unique about them at all anymore. That leg won’t hold the table up. And then I become suspicious of those telling you to put them up. They do that becasue they are making money when you sign up thru their link…not because the product is still working for new signups.
I believe the same thing about niche sites…to a different degree. Niche sites are a good idea, but the way they are being done…I don’t see that being successful for the long run. You can only milk a system for so long. Once the hordes roll in doing the same thing (and automation begins to take over), it becomes another excuse for spam, and the search engines have to find a way to slap them down (in order to preserve the quality of their own product).
I always look to do something that everyone else ISN’T doing. Sometimes I am slow to learn, and I repeat mistakes because I didn’t listen well or didn’t ask the right questions. But by keeping uniqueness and value at the fore, I have fewer whiffs than I otherwise would.

Actually I’ve been thinking a lot about that very same thing. If any group is doing something then I want to do whatever is not popular anymore. The people who make real money are usually the ones who figure out what works for them, and then implements that, while everyone else, is doing the same thing. As far as bans, I already have the software and the knowledge and I’ve made a couple of sales. So I’ll continue to work on it. But you are right about not following the masses.

@ Andy it’s a shame there isn’t some way for you to get that question answered while reading the post. If only there was some sort of magic button that could answer your question. I guess we can only dream.
