It’s been a minute since I’ve posted and I just wanted to give an update on what’s going on. I’ve been trying to master keyword research, and linkbuilding. I’ve created some BANS sites and I have more on the way. I’ve purchased some new and aged domains.
I opened a reseller account with HostGator. And I purchased some tools I’m trying to master. As in my previous post I am going to be participating in Vic’s blog traffic contest. My blog will be called Emma’s View and it will be hosted at Blogger Unleashed.
I won’t be giving away any secrets or sharing all of the contest info. But you may find an occasional post on my progress. I’ve been learning a lot from Vic. But I still have a ways to go. From what I can tell by chatting with other contest members, is that we have varied experience.
There are some advanced people who’ve been blogging quite awhile, and program, and create their own scripts and themes, etc. Then there are very new people who have never blogged before, and just got their first AdSense account.
I kind of fall somewhere in the middle. I don’t know if I’ll be the winner, but it will be fun to interact with Vic and the community and hopefully I’ll learn some tricks along the way. Once again thanks to everyone for following along. I hope to have some good stuff in the future about keyword research and link building.

WOW! I am so proud of you! (It sounds stupid coming from someone you have never met, I am sure.) You have come so far and it’s been less than a year, if I’m not mistaken. Or just over a year! I love checking in with your blog to see what you have been up to and what you have done. Keep doing what you do! =) Kudos!

Emma: best of luck to you. I know you’ll do well in Vic’s program. I try to check your blog daily and will continue to do so to see how you’re progressing.
Sounds like we’re both trying to move in the right direction. Imagine how much we’ll have learned in the next 6 months!

Thanks Chanya, it’s so nice everyone is so supportive. We seem to be making progress, slow but sure. Now I feel a little guilty for not posting as often as I should.

I would love to know more about how you are getting on with BANS and the eBay affiliate program. I’d be especially interested in your methods of getting traffic to a BANS site.

I’m just starting out so at this point. I guess building links and getting indexed is the first part. I’m trying to follow Vic’s advice so that’s my strategy. I know a lot of people are working BANS right now. It seems the ones who make money are those who know how to choose the right keywords and build links. I will have a BANS post somewhere down the line, but not for awhile. Thanks, for visiting.

Smart move getting Hostgator. They are the only ones that I feel very comfortable at. Ive heard of BANS but im sort of skeptical. Would like to hear how that goes for you.

I would like to hear more about BANS. Ebay doesnt pay much from their affiliate program (or at least when they were at Commission junction), so im not sure if you can make much from them unless your very lucky and work hard.

Emma, I saw you at the Mom’s Cash Blog so thought I’d check you out. My husband wants a blog and I think I want one of my own. We have different interests. lol I wondered if you add the BANS to this website or do you mean you are making a separate site for it. Don’t know much about these things, that’s why we’re taking our time and learning all we can. Thanks and nice blog! Tori

Hey Tori, I appreciate you stopping by. Yes this blog is about blogging and different things I’m working on and learning about. No the bans sites are separate. It’s kind of a side project.
This is my main blog but I have some others I’m working on as well. This was initially supposed to be about writing. Hence the name, but it’s kind of evolved into more of a blog about blogging and Internet marketing.
I think you and your husband will enjoy blogging it becomes kind of addictive. Especially when you kind of find you belong to a community.
