Here’s my attempt:
“Bill, tell these people to leave”, Hilary exclaimed as she glanced around at the menagerie gathered in his office. “This is not the time to be dissolute!” Bill used his acumen to avoid the upcoming affray. “No worries, this is just a meeting of my new vexillology club.”

Desultory and voluble scions, who bloviate about themselves and genuflect in front of their forefathers, will be disinherited for sure.

His acumen in vexillology was astounding. However it was his need to have others genuflect before him that caused the affray.

Regis Philbin should have known an affray was inevitable when Hollywood assembles a menagerie of drunken, desultory B-listers on the red carpet.

Here is my entry ..
In spite of his excellent acumen he still fell short of fame cos’ of his dissolute attitude and desultory talk, also his talent for getting into an affray doesn’t exactly help his cause.
Cheers..
