Internet Marketing Inspiration

Last night I was reading Super Affiliate Mindset and ran across this great post for Taking the Plunge, this is something most of us only dream about. The thought of leaving a secure, safe, boring job sounds wonderful, but the truth of it is, it would be really scary. I know my job keeps me safe and holds me back at the same time.

One thing I do at my day job is listen to inspirational podcasts, I usually download anything I can find on blogging, SEO, Internet Marketing, etc. Then I’ll delete the boring ones and listen to the keepers. I was really impressed with Internet Marketing Secrets Podcast #134.

Michael Campbell has a lot of informative and inspiring things to say, here is a brief quote:

“Becoming successful means quitting. You must have the courage to quit everything that
you’re mediocre at doing, to focus on your core competencies, until you are the best in the
world at what you choose to do.”

There is also a lot of great technical information in there as well. I was especially impressed with the Secret  to Top Search Engine Rankings. This is a technique I’m going to try.

• Make a Blog Post
• Submit a snippet of the post to sites like Digg and Propeller
• Then bookmark snippet pages on sites like Delicious, Reddit, and StumbleUpon
• Then ping the bookmark RSS feeds using sites like Autopinger and Pingomatic

According to Michael Campbell, Google will spider, index, and then sort your post. This is one method to get top search rankings fast. He also goes on to say, try to target a phrase in the middle of the long tail, with less than 100k competing pages. Make sure to include your phrase in the title of your blog post and your snippets.
