By now, most of you have heard of Caroline Middlebrook. She has a popular blog, where she very honestly writes about her online money making adventures. Plus, very in depth articles, about social sites and other blogging related info.
Caroline, recently sent me an email, asking me to mention her new e-book. I beleive in networking and building relationships with other blogger’s, so here it is. First off, there are tons of free and not so free e-books out there. I have a folder on my computer called e-books where I can store all of the e-books I download.
Caroline’s e-book is a very basic guide, for setting up WordPress, for a niche site. It seems to be targeted for the newest of new blogger’s, who’ve never used WordPress or had a hosted domain. She suggests using bluehost, and does offer instructions on using Fantastico and FTP, two things that can be confusing, the first time around.
She also talks about permalinks, which is something new blogger’s need to be aware of. Although, she doesn’t say anything about redirects, or no www, which I think would be good info to be aware of. The e-book is a light hearted easy read. With information that could benefit the new aspiring blogger’s out there.
I do like how she sets up AdSense ready static pages, which can be useful with set and forget niche sites. Knowledge is power. So, download Build Niche Sites with WordPress - by Caroline Middlebrook.
If this were my e-book I would probably suggest using DreamHost, because they have one-click upgrades, instead of using the automatic upgrade plug-in she suggests. Also, the easiest way to get pictures, videos, links, AdSense code, you name it, into a blog, without knowing how to code, is to use Windows Live Writer.
All in all it’s worth the download so check it out and let me know what you think. Emma
