Entrecard Is Fun!

During my brief blogging career, I’ve been careful, not to jump on the bandwagon, of every new product and gizmo, that hits the blogging scene. But, I’ve been hearing good things about entrecard. Especially, that it really does increase traffic.

I finally decided to check it out. I watched the video and browsed through some of the material. Then I made a simple card (I’m working on my custom one), and put the code on my site. I don’t understand all of the intricacies, but one way to earn credits, is by dropping your card on other sites.

While looking for a list of sites, to drop my card on. I discovered the fun part of entrecard. When I clicked on the card on my site. It took me to a site about Japan, then I clicked on the card on that site. And kept going on each site. I discovered a whole new world of blogs, that I would have never known existed, were it not for entrecard. Plus, I earned credits by dropping my card on each site.

I’m not sure how useful entrecard will be in the long run. But it’s fun. If you haven’t tried it you should definitely check it out. I don’t really need another time waster, but thanks to the miracle of RSS I’ve been reading the same blogs over and over. Seeing all of these new sites was really refreshing.

Also, since I was new, and didn’t have any credits, I decided to enter some of the entrecard credit contests that have been going around. And I won 416 entrecard credits from Sly at Slyvisions. Plus hopefully I’ve made another blogging friend.

I’d love to hear your opinions about entrecard. Check it out and let me know what you think. Emma

I’m glad you approved Entrecard! I know this sounds stupid, but since you started your blog and have grown so much, I have looked to your site for ‘advice’ (both from you, and your site itself). If you had thought that Entrecard was a bad decision, I probably would have removed the widget. =)

I have found some decent traffic from it, and I’m sure you will do the same!!!

by the way, if you visit http://www.cavemanconclusion.com/2007/12/10/free-custom-entrecard-design/ (Caveman Conclusion), he will make you a card. You can use it for a while until you get your personal card done.

    Just a thought!

Daria, I’m honored and flattered. You are very kind. I was wondering where you got your cool card, he did a really good job. Although some of his posts are objectionable. When I get my card done I’ll advertise on your site, so get your widget up. Cheers, Emma

it’s pretty amazing how many blogs I’ve visited today have this entrecard banner on them… it seems like a lot of time required you could be using to create content to drive visitors, but with niche topic blogs where it’s hard to get traffic, it seems like a good idea.
