My mother often considers herself as a deipnosophist, although many people actually think of her as a sesquipedalian. I love her dearly but I dread the frequent somniferous telephone conversations with her that she so seems to enjoy. I should be safe this weekend, as my hirsute uncle is in town for a holiday visit and staying at her house. I thought of my mother immediately when I read about this contest. To make matters worse, he has absolutely <b>draconian</b> views on teaching. While he is meandering on about why we should return to corporal punishment in his <b>somniferous</b> voice, I struggle not to slap him, which might shut him up for about half a second.
