But you don't want the link to count in the search engines, no backlink or track back or whatever. Recently Google has been penalizing people for having paid links. For instance if I have an ad on my site that links to your site, and you are paying me to put it on my site, then that would be a paid link. Which could possibly lead to page rank penalties. Therefore, I can still have your ad on my site, so that when people click on it, they will go to your site, but the no follow will make the link not count in search engines as a back link. For instance people who have those 125 X 125 ad squares in the right hand corner, use no follow, or else it could be considered a paid link.
