But the blogs worth reading are almost all due to the voice of the blogger. OneMansGoal.com might be an account of Bryan's journey through a particular niche, and has a lot of personalized content, but the domain name is awesome and can be applied to many different areas if you look at it. Therefore, while Bryan might have moved on to other sites as his journey brings him beyond the idea behind OMG, the new owner can easily apply the same concept in his own account or even other niches. Before I purchased my current domain name I had GoDaddy contact a domain owner to ask how much he wanted for his domain name. I thought, okay, I'll willingly pay a hundred bucks or so. The domain name in question had been inactive since 2005 (it had the word blog in the title), but he'd never bothered to put up a website - he just purchased the domain and parked it. GoDaddy were authoried to offer up to $230 on my behalf, which they did. Imagine my surprise when the guy asked $6,800! Needless to say, I didn't pay that. For established websites with a strong loyal readership I can see asking several thousand dollars for a site, but for a site that's been parked for 2 years, I don't think so! Interesting.
