It’s Write Now Is Transitioning To A New Theme!

My new theme is really starting to take shape. I’m really excited about this upgrade. My new theme is WP-Glory which I purchased from Solostream . My previous theme was from them as well.
I wanted a liquid 3 column theme, with lots of tabs and pages so I can highlight important articles. Plus I have some writing projects coming up and I wanted to be able to add the pages where they are easily accessible.
This theme seemed like a perfect choice and a nice upgrade from my previous one. I have a lot of ideas about the layout and graphics and customization, though right now I’m just focusing on getting everything running smoothly.
All of my previous posts needed a little bit of extra formatting, which I’m only about halfway through. I’ve been using Windows Live Writer for this and I’m hooked. It brings formatting posts to a whole new level. Once again if your using a PC and you haven’t tried it yet you’re missing out.
As far as my theme upgrade experience, it was fairly smooth. I had one incident where I was trying to make some changes, and I messed up the entire theme. An easy fix for this, was switching back to my old theme, and then reinstalling a fresh copy of the new theme in my themes folder. I didn’t have to delete the old folder because when I reinstalled the same folder it rewrote the old files and bam, my problems were fixed.
I also discovered this morning that I had to add my PPP and Google Analytics code again. Yesterday was a good traffic day so I was bummed I forgot to reinstall the code.
I also did a couple of backups before I started, just to be safe. Although I haven’t restored a database yet and hopefully will never have to. Once again, thanks for being a part of my journey, and watching my site evolve.

Hey Emma! Nice new theme - I guess the structure allows you to show more on the sidebars compared to the old one - it gives me that feel when I returned today!
However, I do like the old colour mix - this one looks slightly cloudy cos of the lower contrast between the gray(?) and red. But that’s fine - there’s gotta be a tradeoff somewhere!

Hi YC, Thanks for noticing. This theme has some cool functionality. I agree I need to add more color. I plan on customizing this theme a lot. I just need to learn how to edit the templates. One of the things I’m trying to do with this site is learn about blogging. So as I learn I will make one little improvement at a time. For instance graphics, header, change some fonts and colors. Right now I’m just making sure it’s functional. I think it’s coming together nicely, but far from perfected. I appreciate the input.
