Technical Issues

tech1.jpg

Hello Everyone, I would love for my pages to be filled with the solution to every technical blog issue that arises. For brevity sake, I’m going to post periodic issues I have, and the solutions to solving them. These will change periodically and will be ongoing. If anyone has any advice or solutions please feel free to comment. Thanks Emma

Technical Issue #1

How do I get my feeds to show the full article?

Resolved!

I changed my wordpress options to show the full text not summary under feeds. As far as I know I don’t have this enabled:

Note: If you use the <!--more--> feature, it will cut off posts in RSS feeds.

From view source I did a search for the <!–more–> feature and found no instances.

I had feedburner ping my feed to see if this would update it.

So far it’s still showing partial feeds. I’ll be working on this one for awhile.

Resolution: It takes 24 hours for the feed to update, all I had to do was enable show full feeds in wordpress options and wait.

If anyone has any suggestions please send them to NewsScribe100@gmail.com

Technical Issue #2

How do I enable comments for my pages?

In order for this page idea to work correctly I need comments enabled. Once again until this is working please send info to  NewsScribe100@gmail.com

Technical Issue # 3

How Do I Back Up My WordPress Blog?

Resolved!

An easy way to back up your wordpress database files is to use the wp-db-backup plugin, you can find it along with directions at this site.

Technical Issue #4

Can anyone explain how to align my text with my photos on the “10 Things I Like” post? Or know of some good tutorials on editing posts in WordPress?

Resolved!

Jen over at domestikgoddess.com was nice enough to send me this tip:

Easiest way is probably to put a clear=all break (<br clear=”all” />)
after each text-plus-photo chunk…

Which I’m sure would of worked, but I was to afraid to try.

Then International Hottie Antonio Marques from the Digital -Folders Network. Created a table in HTML for me. All I had to do was copy and paste. So I took the lazy way out and tried that. It worked now my Ten Things I Like post looks like it should.
