One More Contest….

OK I really want to stop this contest nonsense and actually post something of value. But, Russell Wagner is having a contest for a 30 GB iPod. Here is the link to the actual contest post. OK Russell says that the post must not be only about the contest.
So let me elaborate by saying that right now in the blogosphere the big marketing technique for getting people to read your blog and link to it is by having a contest. Everyone likes a freebie, right? The beauty of this technique is that once you have valuable well established content, you want to share this with as many people as possible.
A great way for attracting potential readers is through a promotion such as a contest. People flock to these in hopes of getting something free. Plus for new bloggers it’s a great way to get a comment post and a link back.
I don’t want to waste my blog on these contest links but it is kind of fun and right now I’m at the beginning stages so I don’t have a lot to lose. Someday (when the time is right), I will have my own promotional contest and then I will be able to measure if these tactics really work. Ciao, NewsScribe
