Content Creation….

A blog is only as good as the content contained in it. Not only are unique, informative and interesting articles imperative. But also staying focused on your niche is a key to blog success.
Being human; quality ideas and writing comes from me rather sporadically. And the subject matter is changing on a continual basis. Plus, being rather new to all the blogging and web technology creating content ends up being a lesson in editing wordpress themes and ftp. (Not so conducive to content preparation).
Plus I have ideas for multiple blog niches (although I do not have multiple blogs) yet. Therefore, I realized if I am going to eliminate the stress. Squelch the stage fright, and use my time in the most productive manner. I need a system.
A system is how ordinary people get extraordinary things done without going crazy. It would be wonderful to have a blueprint in our heads, and use laser like focus on each task while still following a completely organized and logical plan.
If your writing comes from the heart and your own genuine knowledge, then following you’re perfectly laid out blue print becomes difficult. Hey, I didn’t sign up for this blogging thing for it to be difficult. I want to work in my pajamas, have a drink and pet the cat.
As I submerge myself into the world of blogging reading all the information I can digest. And taking crash courses in the technologies I think I’ll need, and experiencing through trial and error. I tend to crowd out the one thing I want to offer.
That’s well thought out, unique well written content. So I have developed my system. I’ve always had a gift for simplifying the complex, and nothing annoys me more than wasting time when things can actually be accomplished by just getting to the point.
My mind boggling simple system for creating content, while I work out the technical stuff, is to create a folder on my computer labeled future blog entries. Than when any idea or whim comes to mind I open a word file and start pounding away at the keys.
When I’m done I name it appropriately and save it into my blog file on the desktop. The beauty and simplicity of this is with just the effort of jotting down my latest brainstorm. I end up with a complete folder of interesting ideas and mostly written articles on a variety of topics.
With a little editing and research and linking, I have my latest brilliant post. This method should serve me well even when I get past wrestling with the technical stuff. Because I will have different categories and niches in a well organized system.
This may be obvious for some. But for the rest of us, go ahead and use your desktop space. Delete, rearrange, and change your bookmarks, create shortcuts to informative sites on your desktop, then delete them and move on to the next great wealth of knowledge.
The same thing goes for that sketchpad or new Moleskin note book. Go ahead and use it and mark it up and then move to the next thing. My point is to use the tools at hand to simplify and create a system for getting the important things accomplished. Until next time, Emma
