Linking to your own post, and bringing some of your past work to the forefront, is good blog practice. When I first began writing I became very attached to my blog and wrote this post:

You’re right, inter-linking is very important and the Related posts plugin is great for doing this automatically, and helping your readers to read more. Just click on my name for installation instructions if you need them.
