You Comment I Follow
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
If you look closely, you’ll notice a couple of new additions to my side bar. I actually installed the Do Follow plugin awhile back, but I thought, I would just, let everyone know.
If you would like to join the “U Comment I Follow”, movement, and turn off the No-Follow attribute in WordPress. You can use the Do Follow Plugin. Then if you would like a cool I Follow button you can get one over at Randa Clay Design.
While I was getting my badge over at Randa’s site. I noticed she is having a “Pimp My Blog Contest”, where she will help you create a logo and custom header. Something I’ve been wanting for a while.
This wasn’t meant to be a contest post but I don’t mind giving link love to a useful site like Randa’s. Plus I would like a custom header.
The other addition to my side bar is the Akismet counter. Which shows the number of spam blocked. When I first started I didn’t even bother to activate Akismet. But then I started getting weird gibberish comments and strange porn references.
Since I’ve activated Akismet it has caught all of the spam comments. So I can relax and focus on what’s important. Take Care, Emma

Hi Emma,
Welcome to the wacky world of WP blogging! Glad you’re here and thanks for the comment over at my end of things.
On “spamments” and Akismet. You might want to consider installing the Spam Karma 2.3 plugin also (just Google it) to back up Aksimet. SK 2.3 works inside your install where Aksimet is is a link to their servers. If Aksimet’s servers ever have a glitch, then you have Spam Karma to back you up (ask me how I know this). That plus it takes care of several other items that Aksimet is not designed for.
As time goes on there are two other plugins that you might be interested in. One that upgrades WordPress automatically and another that automatically installs plugins and themes. Just shoot me an email and I’ll let you what they are and where to get them since I don’t want to take up a whole lot of space here. I wrote up whole posts about them and I’m wordy enough in my comments as it is.
I enjoy helping folks who are just starting out. Heck, I don’t even charge for it. Best wishes on you new endeavor here.

I’m glad you decided to join the “do-follow movement”.
It’s a great way to give something back to bloggers and foil evil Google’s plan to take over the world!
You’ll also find that once people find out, your comments will go up. Which reminds me that I forgot to add that to my most recent post. Oooops

@KirK Thanks Kirk, I’ll hit you up when I have any questions. Actually getting some spam made me feel like a real blog. But I know it could be a real problem. I’ll check out those plug in posts on your blog. After all I did subscribe. Thanks for stopping by. And I enjoy the long comments. I’ll talk to you soon, Emma
@Bryan Bryan, Thanks again for stopping by. I think the do follow will help with backlinks. It would be nice to have a page rank. I enjoy your blog, and I’m hoping you make your goal. I actually think you have a good shot at it. Stop by anytime!

Hi, I came from Authority Blogger Forum. I didnt see the “Big Pink Toilet?” here but this lovely following plugin… so quickly leave you a comment…

Thanks for stopping by. The pink toilet can be elusive at times, but it usually comes back to me. I even got a comment from the creator of the blog about the toilet. Don’t know if it’s the best marketing technique, but it has been fun.

Congrats on joining the “DoFollow” movement.
I think that it’s a great way to give something back to fellow bloggers, and it also encourages commenting when readers might normally pass by un-noticed.

Well done! Alot of people are disabling the do follow which is really just unfortunate.

do follow is a good way to get some traffic and some incoming links. keep on following. i do.

Its great, that you provide dofollow pages. But, on the other side, you may also think of spammers who can spam on you in more number. Even your akismet number is also very large which obviously is a indication that your blog is prone to spammers. What do you say?

I say your right. Having do follow is enticing to spammers and the more popular I get the more spam I have to deal with. Plus there is a fine line between what is really spam and what is a legitimate comment.

I think It’s a good way to get extra visitors. Why not? That’s why we do what we do right?
