But I have also installed the <a href="http://www.raproject.com/wordpress/wp-ajax-edit-comments/" rel="nofollow">WP Ajax Edit Comments</a> plugin which gives commenters a short while to edit their own comment on the site. I think you'd like the spelllcheck on it (but haven't looked into how 'defiant' it wants a writer to be!); I find it works quite well to flag those errors made on the fly -- I only wish it gave the option to choose whether to use American, British or Canadian conventions in spelling English words.
