Do You Spell Check Your Comments?

Part of the fun of blogging, is being able to interact with others, through comments. I tend to use the word definitely a lot. This is a word I know how to spell, and yet, when I’m typing quickly I always seem to misspell it.
For some reason the spell checker in WordPress always wants to make it defiantly. If WordPress were spell checking my comments they would say something like: “I agree. Great Post. I am defiantly subscribing to your feed.”
WordPress doesn’t spell check the comments anyway. But, if you’re like me, and you like to type fast, before you lose your train of thought. A spell check, might be in order, before you hit that submit button.
In the past, I was not a fan of toolbars. Just too much clutter on my browser. But now they add so much functionality, I’m changing my mind about that. I recently added Google toolbar, which has a pretty good spell checker. That allows you to check any web form, even comments.

As far as Firefox add-ons go, I’m very keen on ScribeFire to make it easier to blog. I think you’d like the spelllcheck on it (but haven’t looked into how ‘defiant’ it wants a writer to be!); I find it works quite well to flag those errors made on the fly — I only wish it gave the option to choose whether to use American, British or Canadian conventions in spelling English words.
I have few enough comments to be able to spell-check visitor’s comments – it might save them the embarrassment of a dropped apostrophe or a mixed up “there” and “their”. But I have also installed the WP Ajax Edit Comments plugin which gives commenters a short while to edit their own comment on the site.
@Jen, you are very funny. Thanks for stopping by. I have Scribefire on Firefox. But I haven’t used it yet. But I’ve heard good things, so I’ll get to it soon.
@Rory, Thanks for stopping by. I do kind of like the edit comments plugin. Maybe I’ll give it a try.
