Hey Sue, I had some luck and I pounded the pavement. My first lucky thing was winning the bloggrrl contest. I immediatly created a post for any of her fans who came to visit.

I was also posting on other blogs, kind of getting one reader at a time. Plus when you comment on other blogs other commentators will check you out. I got some traffic just from commenting on Problogger.

I also seized every opportunity that came along,(See Pink Toilet Martketing below). Plus I was participating in the 30 day challenge and I got some stumbles from some of the members over there. Read Dosh Dosh if you want some great information about the potential traffic of StumbleUpon.

I guess I should of made this comment a post. But to sum it up. I spent a week actively marketing, staying on top of things, and posting and commenting in forums and groups.

The effort paid off, my traffic is still slowly increasing, and I do have some other tricks up my sleeve. I just would like to improve what I have to offer before I engage in the full marketing blitz.

Thanks for stopping by, and commenting, Emma

Wow. That is impressive, Emma. What did you do? I'm still trying to up mine, I seem to have legitimacy, but few visitors, especially to my Lighthouse News site. I was just contacted to day by a newspaper group, offering to let me know about stories in my niche in advance, but don't know how that will translate into more visitors.
The static site I have for haunted lighthouses is also gaining legitimacy, and I have been contacted for a story in a newspaper regarding my "expertise," but it would be really great if you could post what you did to see such a great jump in visitors. Those of us who are also new to blogging want to know.
